Full collection of newspaper Azerbaijan, an Inseparable Part of Iran published in Iran
A full collection of the newspaper Azerbaijan, an Inseparable Part of Iran has been published, says an article in Arannews.ir.
According to the article, the newspaper, published by Pardis Publishing House, was once published by Iranians living in the Caucasus during World War I. It was published for one year only, with a total of 13 issues.
About 50,000 Persian-speaking Iranians from Iran’s East Azerbaijan province lived in Baku and its neighborhood in 1910-20, the Iranian website says.
“In those years, Pan-Turkist forces caused tension among Iranians, which became a reason for the Iranians living in the Caucasus to release their first organ, the newspaper Azerbaijan, an Inseparable Part of Iran, on January 28, 1918,” Arannews.ir says.
