Former consultant: Heydar Aliyev was killed for not acting within interests of West
Elman Jalilov, who was Heydar Aliyev’s former consultant on legal issues, while being at the office of chairman of Armed Forces of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic said that Heydar Aliyev did not die a natural death, the Azerbaijani news agency "Haqqin.az" writes.
"The murder of Heydar Aliyev should be investigated and those who are involved in his death should be identified," said the former consultant to the late President of Azerbaijan.
In an interview given to "Azpolitika.info" Jalilov stated that he had already appealed to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on this issue and has attached a book to the letter in which he reveals details of his version of the events. According to him Heydar Aliyev’s death is shrouded with mysteries.
Jalilov puts forward the hypothesis that Heydar Aliyev’s cardioaccelerator was conducted by someone and his fall during the speech was planned.
As to the reasons of Heydar Aliyev’s murder, Jalilov notes that after strengthening his positions in the government, the ex-president stopped acting within the interests of the West. "In particular, he began to realize that he was deceived issues concerning the oil contracts and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and tried to correct his mistake. And this became the reason for the dissatisfaction of the West," Jalilov said.
According to him, during that time policy of consistent elimination of political leaders was being carried out. Today the murder of former Turkish President Turgut Ozal is already revealed. Criminal case in connection with the murder of Elchibay, another ex-president of Azerbaijan, is opened.
According to the portal, the former adviser believes that these murders are related to each other, and that the fact that Heydar Aliyev’s assassination is not yet investigated, contradicts to the national interests of Azerbaijan.
"In addition, recently information about Heydar Aliyev allegedly involved in murder of Turgut Ozal appears in number of foreign media. Though, this is factually impossible," said Jalilov.
Last year the former presidential candidate Hafiz Hajiyev (nickname "Balig Hafiz"), stated in one of his interviews that he has evidence proving that the ex-president of Azerbaijan A. Elchibay died of poisoning. "Balig Hafiz" stated that he was told this by Elchibay after he was poisoned. According to him, the late president, took part in the junket where he was invited by the current chairman of one of the political parties. A few days later Elchibay’s health deteriorated, and then he came to a conclusion that he was poisoned. Following Hajiyev’s statement an investigation was opened in Baku city prosecutor's office to investigate the causes of death of former Azerbaijani President Elchibey.
