Paruyr Hayrikyan: May 28 is not yet called by its real name
Like in previous years, leader of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan was at Republic Square on the Day of the First Armenian Republic, May 28. After congratulating everyone on the holiday, he said that May 28 is not yet called by its real name and that it should be named Independence Day or Day of Restoration of Armenian Statehood.
Hayrikyan said that he has repeatedly applied to Armenian parliamentary factions in connection with the naming of the holiday and all of them, except Armenian National Movement, gave a positive response.
Hayrikyan added that after the news conference, he will visit the graves of Aram Manukyan, Haykaz Khachatryan and Movses Gorgisyan, after which he will host a party in his summer house.
