Faktxeber.com: Razman Kadirov offered to be a ‘‘mediator’’ between Moscow and Baku in just one and a half billion dollars
The Azerbaijani authorities are negotiating with Chechen President Razman Kadirov, who agreed to help to improve relations between the official Baku and the Kremlin for a certain amount of money, Faktxeber.com writes referring to the newspaper "Yeni Musavat".
According to the website, Kadirov required half a billion dollars for his "mediation". According to Kadirov, he would quickly solve the issue for good "fee". He would use his cordial relations with RF President Vladimir Putin. He also noted that the requested amount is a "small fry" compared to 40 billion (20 billion according to others), which the Kremlin has requested from the Azerbaijani authorities.
Political scientist Elkhan Mehdiyev commented on the topic in an interview with the site and noted that money solves everything in the post-Soviet territory, and especially in Azerbaijan. He noted that the opposition leader, screenwriter Rustam Ibrahimbekov had mentioned earlier that bags of money are being carried from Baku to Moscow. "The rumors that all the questions in Azerbaijan are solved by money are convincing, but it is difficult to talk about the amounts and intermediaries," the political scientist says.
According to the expert, there are influential people in Russia who have access to the President Vladimir Putin and the Prime Minister Medvedev. "In order to solve the problems in bilateral relations the services of these people are used. Vladimir Putin is enough cold with Ilham Aliyev and he does not even want to meet him. From this point of view, the Azerbaijani authorities are in a bind and are therefore ready to do anything to keep the external forces on a neutral stance concerning the issue of Ilham Aliyev’s re-election," said the expert.
