The Day of the First Armenian Republic, May 28, is being celebrated by a parade at Sardarapat Memorial complex. Armenian top officials and guests from abroad are attending it. 

Military planes are flying overhead, leaving the trace of Armenian tricolor in the sky.

“Here, we repulsed the enemy for no one in the world to have illusions or doubts about racism and anti-Armenian plans. Here, thanks to our united spirit, the Armenians were saved from the coming disaster,” President Serzh Sargsyan said in his remarks in Sardarapat.

“May 28, 1918 was the record of our salvation, the bravery and strength of our people which was later also shown gloriously during the Great Patriotic War and Artsakh War. So, we can say clearly that we know the formulation of existence and victory,” President Sargsyan stressed.

“Be united and well-organized and rely on your strength. In that case, we will be able not only to maintain our state but also to lead it to a serious development,” Serzh Sargsyan said. 

“Glory to the Republic of Armenia! Glory to the Armenian Armed Forces!”
