New candidate for position of Syunik governor
“Chorrord Ishkhanutyun” paper has touched upon the issue of resignation of Surik Khachatryan, Syunik’s governor, as well as acting governor Ara Dolunts. “There are people among the authorities which actively act against Dolunts’ appointment on that position bringing as an argument the fact that he is “Liska’s man”.
According to the paper there is also another candidate – Colonel Melikset Poghosyan (Melo). The latter is Serzh Sargsyan’s compatriot; Melo was born in village Tegh in Goris region. Mello was involved in Artsakh movement since 1988 and has headed “Melik-Barkhudar” voluntary squad. He has been the head of the brigade for a long time and since 2007 is at the office of Military Commissar of Goris.
