Messi tax fraud case could be extended
The Spanish Tax Authority could expand its investigation into Leo Messi’s fiscal affairs to the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, AS reported.
The Barcelona forward and his father Jorge Horacio Messi are being investigated over allegations they evaded taxes totalling over 4 million euros on the player’s image rights in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 by channelling the money abroad to third parties.
The player and his father still have the opportunity to regularize this hypothetical fraud with further declarations, but if they do not, the tax authorities will send the result of their investigations to the prosecutor to incorporate into its investigation.
