5 candidates nominated for Proshyan mayoral elections
The deadline is over for nomination of candidates for the elections of Proshyan village mayor, set for July 14.
5 candidates have applied for participation in the election race: self-nominated, non-partisan candidates: Alexan Alexanyan, who works at the State Extra-departmental Expertise of Projects company, director of Delikt LLC Tsolak Grigoryan, employee of Proshyan village administration Galust Mkrtchyan, self-nominated candidate, member of Republican Party of Armenia Arthur Muradyan and ARFD-backed candidate Vova Sahakyan.
Following the murder of Proshyan mayor Hrach Muradyan on April 2, the village residents refused to accept Armenuhi Melkonyan as acting mayor, appointed by Kotayk governor Kovalenko Shahgaldyan. So she was forced to resign.
