Failed States Index 2013: Armenia is the most established state in region
According to the annual report of “Failed States Index 2013”, compiled by the U.S. “Fund for Peace” and the “Foreign Policy” magazine, Armenia is considered the most established state of the region. According to the report Armenia is more established state not only among the countries of the South Caucasus but also more than Turkey, Iran and Russia. In the CIS, Armenia closes the top three established countries.
The rating is made on the following principle: the higher the position in the list, the less the state is established, and thus the more serious the threat of disintegration is.
In the ranking of “Failed States Index 2013” Azerbaijan is on the 76th place with 78.2 points, which means there is a high degree for the risk of collapse. At the same time, Armenia is on the 105th place in this ranking with the points of 71.3. Georgia is on the 55th place with 84.2 points. Armenia is far ahead of Russia and is on the 80th place, Turkey is on the 86th place and Iran on the 37th.
Among the CIS countries, Armenia is on the 3rd place. It is only behind Ukraine (117th place) and Kazakhstan (109th). Other Commonwealth countries are located as follows: Moldova is the 83rd in the rank, Belarus is on 81st, Turkmenistan is on 81st too, Tajikistan is on 51st, Kyrgyzstan on 48th, Uzbekistan on 44th.
The ranking was based on the organization of risk indicators that could lead to the disintegration of a country. 12 factors such as political, demographic, economic, social, etc. were examined.
According to the rating, Somalia has been recognized as the most unstable country in the world. And the most stable country has been considered Finland.
