David Harutyunyan sends letter to Jean-Claude Mignon
Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE David Harutyunyan sent a letter to PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon on Tuesday. In view of the fact that the Armenian and Azerbaijani delegations are due to meet on Wednesday on the sidelines of the PACE summer session, David Harutyunyan said in his letter that the issues of mutual interest cannot cover the whole range of issues discussed by the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Also, David Harutyunyan presented a number of priority issues which should be discussed, in the opinion of the Armenian delegation. The issues include constant monitoring of manifestations of xenophobia, intolerance and racism by the sides; development and implementation of joint measures to prevent them; promotion of contacts of civil societies, etc.
He stressed the need to build such relations between the two delegations that will “allow to discuss issues of mutual interest in an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual confidence.”
