Member of Moldovan Constitutional Court apologizes for Ombudsman’s remarks
Yesterday’s statement of Moldovan Ombudsman in Armenian parliament that Armenia is an “aggressor state” was a very unpleasant incident, and put our country in an awkward situation, member of Moldova’s Constitutional Court Viktor Popan told reporters in Yerevan.
Viktor Popan, who is a former Member of Parliament of Moldova, stressed that yesterday’s statement is the personal opinion of the Moldovan Ombudsman, and cannot be the opinion of Moldova’s parliament or any other body.
“Yesterday, I spoke to Moldova's parliamentary speaker, Marian Lupu, and he greatly regrets about the incident, and I am authorized to apologize for the incident, and I believe that it will become an occasion to investigate and clear up the circumstances,” he said.
