Armenian transport companies could go on strike unless their social problems are solved
Armenian transport companies could go on strike unless the problems resulting from the increase in prices for gas and diesel fuel are solved within the coming 1-2 months, Co-Chairman of the Union of Passenger Transportation Companies Vardan Panosyan and Chairman of the Armenian Public Council’s Transport Commission Tigran Hovhannisyan told today’s press conference.
According to them, the transport companies are facing the risk of liquidation, but do not want an increase in public transport fares.
Hovhannisyan noted that the drivers work 14-15 hours a day, and still are not able to solve their social problems. As a result, most of them leave the country.
