Goris murder: Drug found in blood of ex-governor’s son
The results of a forensic medical examination have been released within the framework of a criminal case over the fatal shooting incident near the house of former Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan in Goris. The results suggest that there was drug in the blood of the former governor’s son, Tigran Khachatryan, Hayk Alumyan, lawyer for the aggrieved party, told Panorama.am.
Former candidate for Goris mayor, Avetik Budaghyan, was killed and his brother, Colonel Artak Budaghyan was injured in the shooting near the ex-governor’s house on June 1, 2013. A criminal case was opened following the death of Avetik Budaghyan. Tigran Khachatryan and Suren Khachatryan’s security guard Zarzand Nikoghosyan were arrested.
The lawyer did not give any other details about the results of examination. He also refused to answer if the drugs found in Tigran’s blood can be an aggravating circumstance for him.
