There was not found Azerbaijani interpreter in Bulgaria; Aliyev’s speech was translated into Russian and then to Bulgarian
During the meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria in Baku a curious incident took place: it truned out that interpreter of the President of Bulgaria could not translate the speech of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev into Bulgarian, Azerbaijani news portal "Haqqin.az" reports referring to the German edition of “Stimme Russlands”.
It is reported that this amusing incident was told by Boris Nazhmush, specialist in linguistics, who was the personal translator of Georgi Parvanov, the former President of Bulgaria. According to him, after the negotiations, the presidents came out to the journalists for a briefing. However, Boris Nazhmush could not directly translate the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev into Bulgarian.
"Then I asked the interpreter of Ilham Aliyev to slowly whisper the president's words to me in Russian. While he was whispering Aliyev’s speech in my ear I as taking notes, and immediately translated it into Bulgarian for Pirvanov. When Pirvanov was speaking, I used the same tactics. So we got out of this difficult situation and avoided delays in interpretation," Nazhmush said.
