Haykakan Zhamanak: Former Gyumri Mayor sued for offensive language
A criminal case was opened yesterday against former Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan, Gyumri police chief Karen Babakekhyan told reporters. The criminal case is based on an application of lawyer Lusine Sahakyan. Vardan Ghukasyan will be called to account not because of beating in the courtroom the father of the defendant in the case of murder of his would-be son-in-law but because of using offensive language during the trial.
Lusine Sahakyan told Haykakan Zhamanak that she asked to open a criminal case under the article on “disrespect for court” accompanied by insults at participants of the trial. No complaint was filed about the beating.
