Tigran Gharamian in Biel
Armenian GM Tigran Gharamian (France) scored 6 points out of 7 and shared 1st-2nd spots with GM Jan Smeets (Netherlands) at the Chess960 tournament held within the framework of the festival in Biel, Switzerland. Gharamian finished second on tiebreak.
Gharamian also successfully performed at the rapid chess tournament of Biel festival. He scored 7 points out of 9 and shared 2nd-7th places among 117 participants. Gharamian finished fifth on tiebreak. The Armenian grandmaster was half a point behind the winner, GM Pentala Harikrishna (India).
