Citizens protest transport fare hikes in Yerevan
A mass of citizens, including young activists, have gathered in front of Yerevan Municipality to protest transportation price hikes that have gone into effect.
Commuters using buses and minivans will have to pay 150 drams as opposed to 100 drams, while trolleybus passengers will pay 100 drams as opposed to 50.
They are holding posters reading “No to 150.”
The protesters are chanting “strike,” some demand the resignation of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, with police standing between them and the Municipality.
