Azerbaijani media accuse Iran of holding Azerbaijani child hostage: Response of Iranian Ambassador
The report of the death of 178 Azerbaijanis at Iranian hospitals is untrue, Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pak-Ayeen was quoted as saying by Iran’s Fars news agency.
The Iranian Ambassador refuted the information circulated by Azerbaijani media that at a Tabriz hospital doctors held an Azerbaijani child hostage because his parents did not pay for the treatment. Pak-Ayeen said in part, “We do not expect such kind of media to express a positive position, but we demand that Azerbaijani Health Ministry officials get in touch with the Iranian Embassy or medical centers and only then voice an opinion.”
“So far no patient who was unable to pay for treatment had any problems at Iranian medical centers. Thanks to the good will of Iranian doctors, that child was transferred to another specialized pediatric clinic. As to the 178 patients who died at Iranian hospitals, patients also die at the world’s largest hospitals, but this does not mean that those hospitals are incompetent,” the Iranian Ambassador said.
