Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan: predictability of Azerbaijani authorities is good for Armenia
“I think the fact that they have worked with Aliyev for a long time during the negotiation processes along the years is not the only reason.
Another reason is the Aliyev regime which serves another obstacle for Azerbaijan’s development,” political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told Panorama.am commenting on RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement about Azerbaijan’s presidential elections, made at the official closing ceremony of Bazeh-2013 Panarmenian youth gathering on August 17.
“That dictatorial regime that exists in Azerbaijan today, factually isolates the state from various humanitarian and political processes, and the isolation of Azerbaijan as dictatorial country becomes more and more obvious day by day,” the speaker notes.
According to him, the loot of resources that exists in Azerbaijan disturbs the development of that country, which surely is favorable for the Armenian side, taking into consideration that Azerbaijan is nevertheless, a hostile country with which we are also in war.
Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan attached importance to the fact that the Azerbaijani authorities are very predictable which can be profitable for Armenia.
“I think these are the reasons why Serzh Sargsyan made such a statement,” he added.
