Zaven Andriasian takes first prize at rapid tournament in Tokyo
Armenian GM Zaven Andriasian took the first prize at the rapid tournament held within the framework of The Brain and Mind Sports Olympiad in Tokyo, Japan. Andriasian scored 7 points out of 9. GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami (Iran) had the same result. Andriasian won the tiebreak Armageddon play-off game.
Armenian GM Tigran Gharamian (France) was half a point behind the winner and took the third prize.
Andriasian scored 13.5 points out of 18 and took the second prize at the blitz tournament.
GM Vitali Golod (Israel) won the tournament, gaining 14.5 points, armchess.am said.
