Comments of RA President’s Administration: Mammadov’s reacton was rather inadequate
Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Armenian President's administration Artak Apitonyan commented on the reaction of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov on the statement of the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan about the upcoming presidential elections to be held in Azerbaijan, tert.am reports.
“I think, the reaction of Mr Mammadov was rather inadequate, which, perhaps, is due to the nervous atmosphere among the Azerbaijani leadership. It contained misplaced and flavorless parallels, yet another portion of bile and bawdry, spiced with badly covered inferiority complex in themselves to compare everything with Armenia and Armenians. An easy brainwork is enough for the presented “arguments” to explode like bubbles.
I would offer just one piece of advice: it would be better if the letters of Barack Obama or statements of Vladimir Putin are commented by American or Russian officials; otherwise it’s a bit dishonest.”
Serzh Sargsyan attended the official closing ceremony of Bazeh-2013 Panarmenian youth gathering on Saturday where one of the young participants had asked a question to the president “who the preferred candidate for Armenia in Azerbaijani presidential elections is,” to which Armenian President had responded that it would be beneficial for Armenia to see Ilham Aliyev as a president in Azerbaijan.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov had reacted to this statement and declared that Ilham Aliyev doesn’t need Serzh Sargsyan’s support and added that “Such leaders as Putin, Obama, and Turkic leaders support Aliyev.”
