Migration official: Armenia ready to receive Syrian-Armenians
Armenia is ready to receive our compatriots from Syria if the Syrian situation worsens, head of Armenia’s State Migration Service Gagik Yeganyan told Panorama.am.
“God forbid, if something happens, Armenia and the Armenian people, all of us will provide maximum support to our compatriots who are in a tragic situation,” Yeganyan said.
According to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan, several dozen Armenians remain in Aleppo. The Ministry constantly keeps in touch with the Armenian community, Embassy and Consulate in Syria.
“The Armenian Embassy continues to operate in Damascus and Consulate General in Aleppo,” the spokesman added.
