Head of ‘‘Azerbaijani Airlines’’ gives rise to scandal in restaurant and insults foreign ambassadors
An unpleasant incident took place at the hotel restaurant “Landmark” during the meeting of the representatives of Azerbaijani oppositionist National Council with the staff of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Baku.
As the site “Gunxeber.com” reports, when the meeting of oppositionists with diplomats was close to the end, Jahangir Askerov the head of "Azerbaijani Airlines" surrounded by bodyguards and foreign guests entered the restaurant. Seeing the representatives of the National Council, Askerov called the restaurant administrator and gave rise to a scandal. He rudely insulted the restaurant staff for the fact that they "had let the oppositionists in" and threatened with dismissal.
The heads of AZAL tried to explain that the opposition leaders had come to the restaurant, accompanied by ambassadors of foreign countries. However Askerov ignored justifications of the administration and again threatened them with reprisal. Moreover, the head of "Azerbaijani Airlines" allowed himself to make insulting remarks addressed to the foreign diplomats.
