National Statistical Service: Bread product prices rise 8.1 percent in one year
Prices for bread products rose 8.1 percent in August 2013 compared to the same month in 2012 and 0.3 percent compared to July 2013, the National Statistical Service of Armenia said. The indicated price hike is the result of the increase in prices for high sort bread (0.3 percent), cookies (0.6 percent), cereals (1.8 percent), baby food (2.3 percent) and lavash (3.7 percent).
In the six monitored cities of Armenia, a 0.1-3.6 percent increase of bread product prices was recorded in August 2013 compared to July 2013, and the other five cities showed a 1.5-0.1 percent bread price decrease. Bread prices rose 0.4 percent in the capital city Yerevan.
