‘‘Azadlig’’: Have Filipinos heard about existence of newspaper which had in August announced Aliyev ‘‘Man of the Year’’?
The official newspaper of the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan", referring to its "reliable sources" issues information that the Philippine newspaper “Biz News Asia” has awarded the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev a "Man of the Year."
In this regard, the newspaper "Azadlig" expresses its bewilderment, how the pro-government newspaper can ignore such editions as “Washington Post”, “Spiegel”, “The New York Times” and call a Filipino newspaper edition, which is not even found by the Google search engine, "edition with a wide audience."
"Typically, these types of rates are published in late December or early January, just like in the case of footballers, actors or singers. Awarding Ilham Aliyev with the title of "Man of the Year" coincided with the pre-election period and the eighth month of the current year. They say that all haphazards are conditioned by necessity. The fact that the name of Ilham Aliyev appeared in the Philippine edition looks like a "terrible" necessity. However, it is not clear, whether this newspaper was late with announcing Ilham Aliyev a "Man of the Year" in 2013, or hurried for the 2014th," the newspaper writes.
"Thus, for 10 years he did not managed to become a "man" for the Azerbaijani people, but he became the "Man of the year" in the Philippines. Congratulations ... It’s rather interesting whether the Filipinos have heard about the existence of such a publication?" ironically concludes the Azerbaijani newspaper.
