Nalbandian, Fule meet, agree to continue consultations
On September 5, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is in Brussels on working visit, met with Stefan Fule, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy.
Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union was discussed at the meeting. In this context Minister Nalbandian reiterated Armenia’s readiness to continue the broad cooperation with the European Union on mobility, enhancement of the reform process, good governance, democracy, human rights, multi-sector economic cooperation and in other areas, underlining the will of Armenia to develop close partnership as much as it is appropriate for the EU and so that it would not contradict Armenia’s membership to the Customs Union.
Minister Nalbandian and Commissioner Fule discussed preparations for the Eastern Partnership informal Foreign Ministerial meeting to be held in Yerevan on September 12-13, ahead of the Vilnius Summit.
Edward Nalbandian and Stefan Fule agreed to continue the intensive consultations between Armenia and the European Union, Armenian Foreign Ministry’s press service said.
