Azerbaijani State Oil Company raised country’s flag upside down
Another curious case related to the Azerbaijani flag happened in Georgia, more specifically, in one of the construction objects of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). A reader of Haqqin.az Azerbaijani news portal, who has recently returned from Georgia, informed the website about it.
According to him, Azerbaijani flag was raised upside down in one of SOCAR construction lots. In fact, many people have noticed the incident. “I wrote on SOCAR fan page on Facebook, but there was no reaction from them,” writes the reader.
“Of course, it’s natural that the country is a foreign one, and the majority of Georgians do not protrude into the intricacies of the Azerbaijani flag, but the representatives of SOCAR must not forget that it is the state symbol of Azerbaijan. Disrespect towards the flag is disrespect towards homeland,” reads the material.
