Former envoy: Entry into CU will give us big economic opportunities
We will have big economic opportunities and this is a very positive decision for Armenia, former Ambassador of Armenia to Russia Armen Smbatyan told Panorama.am in commenting on Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union.
“We just need time to study the matter and to understand everything,” Smbatyan added.
Regarding the response of European officials, particularly Štefan Füle’s statements in Yerevan, Smbatyan said that he is not worried about that, adding that Armenia should of course develop ties with Europe.
“I see no problem about it. These are rather emotions than something real,” the former envoy said.
