President meets with Chief of Hellenic National Defense General Staff
President Serzh Sargsyan met today with Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Mikhail Kostarakos, the presidential press service reports.
The President welcomed the guest to our country and expressed confidence that his visit will give a new impetus to strong bilateral friendly Armenian-Greek relations which are based on the historical and cultural traditions. Noting that after Armenia’s independence the Armenian-Greek relations have been developing upward, Serzh Sargsyan said that the two countries have formed active dialogue and close cooperation in the military, cultural and educational areas. According to the President, such visits testify to the continuity of the bilateral relations and readiness of the parties to give them a new quality.
The parties stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening of the Armenian-Greek relations, development of decentralized cooperation between Armenia and Greece, as well as common approaches to the different issues of the international agenda.
The interlocutors concurred that the potential of the Armenian-Greek cooperation is much more than that and it is necessary to use it completely.
