Gevorg Kostanyan nominated as candidate for Prosecutor General
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has nominated Deputy Prosecutor General, Military Prosecutor of Armenia, Gevorg Kostanyan, for the position of Prosecutor General, head of the Armenian parliament’s Public Relations Department, Gohar Poghosyan, told Panorama.am. The President’s proposal was introduced to the parliament today, she added.
Prosecutor General’s candidacy will be discussed in parliament on September 30. According to the Constitution, the Prosecutor General will be elected by the MPs through a secret vote.
Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan ended his term in office on September 13. He was elected to that post in 2007.
