Hovik Abrahamyan: Amnesty will strengthen tolerance and solidarity
The upcoming amnesty will strengthen tolerance and solidarity in the country, Armenian National Assembly speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said in his remarks in parliament.
According to him, in many countries, amnesty is purely a political step which is aimed at solution of domestic problems and easing tensions within society. In Armenia, amnesty involves legal and political, economic, social and psychological aspects as well as boosts civil solidarity.
“I urge all those who will be released by amnesty to be more conscientious and to use their capabilities for the wellbeing of our state, becoming full members of society,” Mr Abrahamyan concluded.
Today the Armenian National Assembly completed the discussions of the amnesty issue. The voting will take place at the beginning of tomorrow’s session.
