Haykakan Zhamanak: National Assembly to adopt decision on amnesty today
The discussion of the proposal of amnesty in parliament has reached the question-and-answer phase, and will continue today. In all probability, today the MPs will vote to adopt the decision, Haykakan Zhamanak reports.
According to the NA Rules of Procedure, the National Assembly speaker signs and makes public the parliament’s decision on amnesty within 24 hours. All prisoners to whom the amnesty extends are to be released immediately. The prisoners’ release process will run until December 31, 2013, inclusive.
