Piruz Sargsyan: Number of complaints against financial organizations rises
The number of complaints submitted to the Financial Ombudsperson as well as the number of cases with a positive solution is increasing year by year, Armenian Financial Ombudsperson Piruz Sargsyan told reporters in Yerevan.
According to her, the number of complaints against financial organizations, including banks and insurance companies, has increased abruptly.
The average number of complaints submitted to the Financial Ombudsperson rose by about 175 percent in 2012 as compared to 2011, she said.
The Office of Financial Ombudsperson received 535 written demands from January 1 to September 30, 2013. About 50 percent of them were solved in favor of clients. Financial organizations paid a total of over AMD 180 million compensation to clients with the mediation of the Financial Ombudsperson during the three quarters of 2013.
