Armenia must strive for European values – Aram Harutyunyan
Leader of the National Consent party, Aram Harutyunyan, has commented on Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union at today’s press conference.
“It is clear that currently, there is no serious alternative to the security system offered by Russia. Yet Armenia must strive for European values,” he said.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on September 3 said that Armenia has made a decision to join the Customs Union, to take the necessary steps in that direction and to participate in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union in the future. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Armenia’s decision and expressed Russia’s readiness to assist that process in every way possible.
