In Hungary, on bank accounts of Azerbaijani Defense Minister 65 million euros are detected
Hungarian “OTR BANK” has frozen the bank account of Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev. EUR 65 million was found on the bank account of the Minister. The bank demanded from Abiyev information on the origin of that sum, but the minister was unable to provide relevant income tax return. According to the Azerbaijani "Haqqin.az" portal military expert, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Public Union "Officers in the reserve," Yasar Jafarli has stated about this in his address.
Portal notes that Jafarli’s appeal to the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov and the head of the National Security Ministry of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov was published by the Azerbaijani site "Bizim Yol."
"In the reports of the Hungarian Interpol department is written that there were suspicious transfers to five Hungarian bank accounts from Azerbaijan within two months. From these transfers $ 686 000, $196 000, 617 000 and $252 000 "kickback" are received. In addition, according to information on bank transfers, Minister Safar Abiyev receives $ 3 million kickback monthly. And this is only the figures obtained from five accounts identified in Hungary," the statement reads.
The appeal then reads that the officers’ union has repeatedly sent a written request to the mentioned above bank, but the administration of the bank has not responded to the requests. "The bank has refused to provide any information, citing the fact that this issue is a matter of inter-state relations. However, the bank did not deny our information. We, as a public organization demand that the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of National Security verified this information, and undertook necessary steps," the statement reads.
Yashar Jafarli also notes that their union continues investigating the information about bank accounts of Safar Abiyev in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and other countries. In its turn, the head of the press service of the Defense Ministry Eldar Sabiroghlu has stated that he did not consider it necessary to comment on Jafarli’s appeal, "who has become a plaything in the hands of others."
