Yerevan concert to mark Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birthday
Today Yerevan’s Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet will host a gala concert dedicated to the 200th birthday of world-famous Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, under the title “Viva Verdi 200.”
Fragments from Verdi’s operas will be performed at the concert.
The concert will feature the Symphony Orchestra of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, conducted by Karen Durgaryan, as well as special guests Hrachuhi Basents (soprano, Germany), Rosie Anoush Svazlian (soprano, U.S.) and Ara Avanyan (tenor, France).
The musical community has been celebrating the 200th birthday of Giuseppe Verdi throughout this year, with concerts, performances and festivals held on the most authoritative stages around the world.
