ICRC gives no report on information conveyed to Armenian POW’s family
Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have met with family members of Armenian POW Hakob Injighulyan today and presented them with information about Injighulyan, Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs of the ICRC Yerevan Office, told Panorama.am.
Asked to comment on media reports that the POW has expressed a wish to be moved to a third country, she said: “I cannot confirm that information. ICRC gives no report on the information conveyed to the Armenian POW’s family.”
Ms Amatuni added that ICRC representatives have frequent meetings with Injighulyan’s family.
On the night of August 7, Hakob Injighulyan, an Armenian citizen and an army conscript, crossed the Azeri border and was subsequently captured by Azeri soldiers. According to preliminary information, Injighulyan had lost his bearings on the terrain and inadvertently crossed the line of contact.
