Zhoghovurd: Deputy police chief dismissed
Armenian deputy police chief Alexander Afyan was dismissed from his post by President Serzh Sargsyan yesterday, Zhoghovurd reports, adding that it wrote about Afyan’s resignation on April 25. Samvel Hovhannisyan, a cadre policeman, was appointed to replace Alexander Afyan.
Zhoghovurd daily notes that on April 9, after the inauguration of Serzh Sargsyan, Afyan was only observing the events in Baghramyan Avenue, something which was disliked by police chief Vladimir Gasparyan and which had its consequences.
