168 Hours: Communist Party leader plans to resign
Leader of Communist Party of Armenia Ruben Tovmasyan has told his fellow partisans that he plans to resign and will submit resignation at the Bureau meeting, according to 168 Hours.
The paper notes that the Communist Party fails to hold Bureau meeting due to disagreements over the candidacy of a new first secretary. One of the candidates is CPA Second Secretary Tachat Sargsyan and the other is head of the party’s Organization Department Boris Gyurjyan. Tovmasyan wishes to see Tachat Sargsyan as his successor, while the majority of Bureau members are in favor of Boris Gyurjyan’s candidacy.
