Armen Poghosyan: Egg price increase unjustified
The increase in egg prices is illogical and unjustified. I see no objective reason for it. The price increase is the result of poorly organized, non-optimal economic policy, chairman of the Union of Consumers Armen Poghosyan told reporters in Yerevan.
Poghosyan noted that the State Food Safety Service and the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) are responsible for control of price hikes, yet these bodies do not work efficiently.
He added that prices for all food products except sugar have risen in Armenia, whereas global food prices are falling.
