Gunnar Wiegand: We are determined to continue cooperation with Armenia
We are determined to continue our deep cooperation with Armenia, but of course we should take into account Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union, Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director of Europe and Central Asia Department, EEAS, told a press briefing in Yerevan prior to the start of the regular session of the Armenia-EU Cooperation Committee.
Mr Wiegand noted that the session will address Armenia-EU cooperation within the framework of the European policy and EU's Eastern Partnership program, as well as the prospects of trade and economic relations.
“Prior to the Vilnius Summit, we will discuss issues ranging from political reforms to economic cooperation, as well as Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union,” he said, adding that they have thoroughly examined those issues, but they will be discussed more profoundly during the Vilnius Summit.
