New judicial body to be established in Armenia
The Armenian government has approved the package of bills on making amendments and addenda to the Judicial Code and to a number of laws.
Thus, it is expected to establish a new independent and self-governed judicial body, Council of Judges, to introduce a new efficient system for distribution of tasks among judges, the principles of compulsory reports by courts and judges and appointment of court chairmen for a limited term.
The government has also approved the package of bills on making addenda to the Criminal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure to ensure protection of migrants’ rights and to combat illegal migration.
