Azerbaijani media spreads disinformation claiming that Yegor Shcherbakov is alive
Today the Azerbaijani news agency "1news.az" with a reference to the "Yeni Musavat" newspaper published an article which, with no exaggeration could blow up Russia's political life, if it turned out to be true: Yegor Shcherbakov, by whose assassination riots broke out in Biryulyovo district in Moscow, was allegedly detained today at Moscow's Vnukovo airport at the customs office, when trying to fly to Warsaw, the Russian portal "Slon.ru" writes.
It was also reported that Yegor Shcherbakov’s girlfriend, Ksenia Popova, had left Russia for Paris two days ago. According to sources of the "Yeni Musavat" newspaper, in concern with the existing tension on this issue in Russia, "the organizers of the so-called "murder" want to ensure Yegor Shcherbakov’s and his mistress safety in this way."
"The Azerbaijani source abuts on the fact that the Russian press has hardly mentioned about funerals of Yegor Shcherbakov, and there were no photos of the victim. However, the journalists of "Yeni Musavat" bring no reference to their sources,” the publication reads.
It is noted that this information has been denied at the Vnukovo airport.
"It should be noted that, Yegor was truly buried very quickly, on October 12, on the second day after the tragedy, which occurred on Thursday night. That’s why they didn’t write too much about it in the press: this funerals did not interest anyone at all; they started writing about Birulevo after the first meeting of the locals held on Saturday in front of the police station; it followed the funeral ceremony of the young man at the Danilov cemetery," the author of the article writes.
On October 10 night, in West Birulovo, a district at the south of Moscow, an unknown man stubbed a youngster, then fled. Later on a native of Azerbaijan Orhan Zeynalov was detained and arrested on suspicion of having committed the crime. District residents gathered on Sunday, October 13, to demand speedy investigation of the murder as well as the closure of the Pokrovskoi vegetable base and tightening of immigration policy. However, the "public gathering" escalated into riots, as a result of which nearly 400 people have been detained. A criminal case was filed against four young men under the article of "hooliganism." The suspect murderer, who provoked the riots, is arrested.
