Anthrax case recorded in Armenia
A patient with a diagnosis of cutaneous anthrax was admitted to Yerevan’s Nork hospital specializing in infectious diseases on Saturday. The diagnosis was confirmed by laboratory tests.
According to the Armenian Health Ministry, the disease is of moderate severity, the patient received necessary treatment and there is an improvement in his health.
Specialists of the Health Ministry, Agriculture Ministry and State Food Safety Service of the Agriculture Ministry took necessary actions to find out the source of infection.
Consumption of infected meat was named as the possible cause of infection.
