Tigran Sargsyan: Pension rise planned for 2014
State pensions will rise from January 1, 2014, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said, while presenting the draft budget for 2014 to the National Assembly.
He added that the plan is to increase pensions for those people who receive minimum pensions.
“Due to the increase of pensions, about 32,000 people will overcome poverty line in 2014,” the PM said.
Tigran Sargsyan noted that social programs will be implemented in 2014, the aim of which will be to reduce poverty in the country.
Mr Sargsyan also said that salaries of power agents will be increased from January 1 and salaries of civil servants from July 1.
