Cooperation with World Vision Armenia – Tchambarak cultural center renovation project completed
On 28 October, 2013 the opening of the newly renovated Boryan Brothers Museum and the cultural center was held in Tchambarak in presence of representatives of CRONIMET Charity Foundation and World Vision Armenia, mayor and residents of Tchambarak town, the Foundation’s press service reported.
The “Tchambarak Museum and Cultural Center” Project was launched on May 15, 2013, in the scope of the partnership between CRONIMET Charity Foundation and World Vision Armenia. It aims at renovating the rundown and not operational Tchambarak Museum together with its library and turning it into a community and cultural hub, as well as establishing handcraft and art classes, including carpet weaving and wood engraving, for children and youth.
The Tchambarak cultural centre and Boryan Brothers’ Museum, built in 70s, was closed for years because of being abandoned. Its restoration will help preserve cultural heritage and provide leisure and educational opportunities for children from underprivileged communities. The project also gives a unique opportunity to some 1500 children and youth from Tchambarak, and four neighboring villages to acquire vocational skills that will help them find a job and earn their living.
The total budget of the Project is AMD 22,287,600, out of which the AMD 12,300,000 is donated by CRONIMET Charity Foundation and the AMD 9,987,600 matching provided by WV Armenia.
CRONIMET Charity Foundation was established in June 2011 having its main goal of supporting children and people in need throughout the country. Founder of the CONIMET Charity Foundation is the German CRONIMET Mining AG.
