Orange celebrates 4th anniversary in Armenia
Tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of Orange launch in Armenia. On this occasion, the company summed up its achievements of the year, and presented the company’s strategic approach for upcoming months.
“It has been already 4 years since Orange is in Armenia, accompanying its 620,000 customers in their everyday lives – be it professional or personal. Four years is not a very big period of time but, in spite of difficulties, we have been able to do quite a lot. Particularly over the last one year, we have focused our attention towards creating new innovative services, to quality of network and care for our customers,” noted Francis Gelibter, Orange Armenia CEO.
Orange which had previously pioneered the trend of unlimited usage, has created this year unlimited data offers for its Prepaid customers and has made all on net conversations for its Dolphin, Butterfly and Panther subscribers unlimited.
Comfort in the usage of the Animal offers has been increased through more free inclusion of megabytes and off net or even international minutes. In the internet domain, Orange has created a specific prepaid Internet Café offer for regional customers. This year, Orange has continued to say “thank you” to its voice customers through the renewed two Orange Merci loyalty programs, one for just being an Orange customer and one for using frequently the services. Orange has created as well a phone fund to help loyal monthly subscription customers to decrease the price of phones when renewing their subscription for 1 or 2 years.
In order to maintain and improve the quality of the network, Orange has made continuous investments, which were twice reflected in being defined as the best Armenian data quality provider following the on the ground studies carried by P3, an international independent audit company. Orange has extended its 42 Mbps network to new cities: Etchmiadzin and Ararat, and now 5 cities in Armenia dispose of these advanced technologies. During the year, the company has as well extended its network coverage to new villages where no other operator had coverage before.
Orange has continued building on the successes of the previous years in philanthropy and CSR activities. 18,480 people underwent free eye screenings within the “Sight to Armenian Eyes” joint program with Eye Care Project, more than 1200 people had free eye surgeries. 17 children returned home from state care institutions thanks to the SMS charity program that unites Orange with its customers for a good cause. In parallel to its social involvement in remote and vulnerable villages, Orange Foundation started to support also projects aiming at economic revival of communities: a new cooperative model has been implemented in one village in order to allow inhabitants to join their efforts and knowledge for better results.
In the cultural domain, the second Orange Book Prize works were published; again the best filmmakers of Armenia received Hayak awards with the Orange sponsorship.
“The year has been quite a successful one, as our company registered a 17% revenue growth during the first 9 months, which is almost 3 times superior to the average market growth,” stated Francis Gelibter during the press conference.
Orange re-stated its commitment to be an innovative and caring operator, with European quality standards, for each and every Armenian.
