David Hakobyan: New conceptual approaches needed for tackling domestic and foreign challenges
Currently, we need new conceptual approaches for tackling the domestic and foreign challenges, leader of the Marxist Party of Armenia David Hakobyan told a news conference on Tuesday.
Hakobyan noted that the entry into the Customs Union and the Karabakh conflict are priority issues for Armenia in the current period.
Regarding the Karabakh conflict, Hakobyan said that in his letter to Vladimir Putin – then the Prime Minister of Russia – dated May 9, 2011, he proposed revitalizing the Treaty of Gulistan and making Nagorno-Karabakh part of Russia.
According to him, that would be more correct than the implementation of the Madrid Principles.
Armenia and Artsakh need peace and only Russian military presence in Karabakh can be a guarantee of security, the Marxist Party leader concluded.
