Pension accumulations must be done voluntarily, says Aram Manukyan
If the bill on compulsory accumulative pension system is postponed for one year, it will lead to the ruin of the budget because the entire budget is built on this bill, secretary of Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition parliamentary faction Aram Manukyan told reporters in parliament.
Manukyan stressed that pension accumulations must be done voluntarily and welcomed the protest against the bill.
Regarding ruling RPA’s non-participation in the special session of parliament, Manukyan said, “I don’t know why they cannot come and admit that they are wrong. After all, they could participate in the session but not vote.”
The special session of Armenian parliament convened for the discussion of the postponement for a year of the introduction of compulsory accumulative pension system did not take place due to no quorum. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia did not appear for the session.
