Galust Sahakyan explains why RPA did not participate in special session
We were positive about the special session of parliament. The initiators said that they want to discuss the postponement of compulsory accumulative pension system’s introduction, but it was found out later that they also plan to make changes in the bill’s contents, head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction Galust Sahakyan told reporters, explaining the reason of the faction’s non-participation in the session.
“The discussion would produce no result,” he said, adding that he came to work but did not participate in the session because it was his right.
The special session of Armenian parliament convened for the discussion of the postponement for a year of the introduction of compulsory accumulative pension system did not take place due to no quorum. The session was convened on the initiative of the parliamentary factions of Prosperous Armenia Party, Armenian National Congress, Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun.
